Jaffe client NYACC awarded with $15K grant for AED expansion

Jaffe Management congratulates the Board of Directors of its client The New York State Chapter of the American College of Cardiology (NYACC), who were recently awarded with a $15,000 grant to expand and modernize New York’s automated external defibrillator (AED) database.

AEDs have become more available in public settings, but, in an estimated 60-70% of cases of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest, an AED is available but not used. Therefore, there is an opportunity to save almost 100K additional lives in New York State alone if bystanders were made aware of AED availability and were better informed as to how to use them.

The Chapter, whose core mission is prevention of cardiovascular diseases and ensuring optimal quality of care for individuals with such diseases, seeks to partner with the Regional Emergency Medical Services Council (REMSCO) to expand the current registry, identify AED owners to request participation in its geotracking initiative and to enhance AED registry utilization by 911 dispatcher organizations.
